From 22 to 24 September 2026, the GATE project will take another important step towards supporting sustainable transformation in schools through the implementation of the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Workshop in Bielefeld, Germany. Over the course of three days, representatives from all partner organisations will come together to strengthen their knowledge and skills in sustainability education and prepare for the wider implementation of the GATE training programme.
The workshop will bring together key staff educators, educational stakeholders, and policymakers from across the partnership creating a diverse learning environment where expertise, experiences, and perspectives can be shared and discussed.
The training programme consists of a series of five workshops delivered by members of the GATE Ad Hoc Committees, with the support of an external expert from Osnabrück University. The sessions will focus on the content and methodology of the GATE micro-courses, which have been designed to support schools in embedding sustainability into everyday educational practice.
Participants will explore how schools can become spaces that actively foster the green competences outlined in the GreenComp framework. Through interactive learning activities and collaborative discussions, they will gain practical knowledge on promoting sustainability across different dimensions of school life, from teaching and learning to governance and community engagement.
The Train-the-Trainer model is designed to create a multiplier effect. After completing the workshop, participants will be equipped to transfer their knowledge and skills to educators and schools within their own countries, extending the impact of the project far beyond the partnership itself.
