Resources

the GATE project

In this section, you will find all the materials developed by the project to support schools in their transition to more sustainable practices. The resources are designed for teachers, school administrators, students, and policymakers, and cover various aspects of sustainability education.

Self evaluation framework for schools

A practical tool to help secondary schools assess their sustainability practices across teaching, leadership, community engagement and school operations.

It is co-designed with students and teachers, and aligns with the European GreenComp framework.

Capacity building programme

Training materials for teachers, school leaders and policymakers to support the integration of sustainability competences into teaching practice and school governance.

It includes modules, examples, and guidance for implementation.

Pilot action reports

Detailed reports and reflections from the pilot phase in partner schools, documenting the testing of the self-evaluation framework and training programme in real educational settings. These reports offer practical insights and recommendations.

Sustainable school certification model

A model to recognise and reward schools that demonstrate commitment to sustainability through whole-school approaches. It supports school transformation and encourages long-term engagement.

Policy recommendations

Evidence-based policy guidelines developed through the project’s research and pilot experiences, aimed at supporting decision-makers in shaping sustainability-focused education policies.
